In this video, we showcase air conditioner control using FIBARO iPad app as well as Lili - the voice control assistant.  

The air conditioner is a typical Mitsubishi Electric ducted air conditioner found in most modern apartment homes.

    Thanks for your enquiry. Split Air Conditioners are typically controlled using infrared remote controllers.

    I believe the only way to control using Fibaro is through IR blaster that can learn your remote controller functions.

    Global Cache iTach Flex is usually quite good for this purpose.

    You will need to learn the functions into Global Cache and then program it using Virtual Devices in Fibaro.

    How you can turn the splits A/C ON or OFF? FAN ? SWING? and change he room temperature?

    Hi Bth,

    The setup is actually quite technical.

    We set this up using a low voltage remote controller cable that we ordered directly from Mitsubishi Electric. The remote controller cable is normally used to add more wall-mounted remote controllers that can control the same air conditioner at the same time without conflict. This is important because we still want the existing wall-mounted remote controller to work together with our new control using our FIBARO app.

    This cable is installed on the motherboard on the indoor unit (air conditioner), along with an electricity relay that can detect and output 12v for low voltage on/off signals on the cable to/from our FIBARO Single Relay Switch.

    We could also get the on/off status of the wall-mounted remote controller from this cable so we can show the status in our FIBARO app.

    So, we used a total of 2 X FIBARO Single Relay Switches (on/off status and turning on/off), 1 X electricity relay (convert 240v to 12v), 1 X Mitsubishi proprietary cable).

    As this solution requires certified electrician/installer, we do not recommend you do this yourself.
